Another fantastic CityLit Stage at the Baltimore Book Festival was accentuated by the best weather for the weekend-long event seen in years. First row l-r: The Dirty Marmaduke Flute Squad rocked during the Friday night Literary Happy Hour courtesy of Heavy Seas Beer; "Smile, Hon, You're in Baltimore" editor William P. Tandy led a chorus of contributors who read from the "waste" edition of the popular zine; the Maryland State Arts Council showcased writers, including Justin Sirois, who won Individual Artist Awards in fiction. Second row l-r: At the Literary Salon, CityLit Project presented Wes Moore, author of The Other Wes Moore, who talked with fellow Johns Hopkins alumnus and former CityLit board member Lionel Foster; Cynthia Hartzler-Miller, co-editor of You're Not Listening: Baltimore Youth Speak Out appeared with three young writers who contributed to the volume and who want adults to hear their opinions; poets Shirley Brewer, Lalita Noronha, Kat Hellen, and Barbara Diehl delivered a rousing reading and discussion of gender stereotypes and poetry.
