Writers and Readers, We Are Thinking About You!

For those of you who are not on our mailing list, or if you missed our email last month, here is encouragement along with a list of resources to help with the COVID-19 crisis. (Scroll to the bottom of this page to access our PDF of resources.)

Dear CityLit Family,
How are you holding up and holding on while sheltering in place? We know each of you has felt the enormous and the continuous impact of COVID-19. Whether you are wrestling with the uncertainty of the present or the future, we are thinking about you.
If you’re a writer, we are offering an exhaustive list of funding resources compiled in one place. We admit, it’s all overwhelming but we are inspired by the immediate call to action to support independent artists. We hope you take every opportunity to apply for the assitance you need as a writer/entrepreneur - yes, please apply that language to the work you do as a poet and writer.
For those of you who seek a moment in your day to read or listen, we suggest these few helpings to engage your spirit. In the next few months we plan to offer you more possibilities to champion your creativity. We encourage you to take what you need and share the joys of discovering something that may resonate with you.

In the midst of this pandemic I was honored to be selected by the Maryland State Department of Education as their April 2020 Arts Leader in the Spotlight. I hope you take a moment to read the article, especially the section called The Art Yet to ComeI hope it will inspire you to create, in whatever manner you choose.
CityLit is cooking up new ways to engage with you in the coming months. If you have stories you want told or something you’d like to see, please email us at Stay tuned for what’s next.
We look forward to a new experience.
