CityLit Stage

As part of Brilliant Baltimore, the return of the Baltimore Book Festival each fall, CityLit Stage presents quality, diverse programming over the course of the festival’s three days.

CityLit Stage curates panels to elicit a deeper understanding and exchange of ideas. We welcome challenging conversations, amplify the voices of people of color, devote one full-day to outstanding poetry, and present a lively platform of performances.

2019 CityLit Stage

The 2019 CityLit Stage offered 15 sessions with over 50 presenters. It included the panel, The Language of Queens – five Arab American women writers; the debut of a 90-minute Master Class with Marita GoldenFree Friday Feedback one-on-one 30-minute critique sessions with an editor; poetry readings, new releases, author book signings, and musical guest artists. It showcased the best of Baltimore’s literary community, as well as authors and journalists from around the country.

I was delighted to be in conversation with other women at various stages of our careers doing such thoughtful and meaningful work. Thank you for the time and energy spent organizing the event and bringing our work as writers in conversation with music.
